I’m thrilled to announce that I’m hosting an invite-only venture capital event in Del Mar on Tuesday, February 13th, with my friends at Deloitte & Gunderson Dettmer.

• The two-hour networking event will feature an exclusive conversation with the San Diego managing partners Brian Mesic, at Ankona Capital and Al Bsharah, at Interlock Capital moderated by startup journalist, Fred Grier.

• Brian Mesic, who joined Orange County-based Ankona Capital five years ago, was an early investor in San Diego-based startups SOCi, Lawmatics, and Cordial.

• Al Bsharah, who sold his company for millions to Seismic and is an entrepreneur-turned-investor at Interlock capital, will also be speaking.

Why it Matters

I’m using my platform to put on more industry-focused events in 2024, while major startup deals are getting done and excitement in San Diego is red hot.

Spots are extremely limited but we will do our best to give preference to paid subscribers, who are active investors or building fast-growing startups.

Investors from Harpoon Ventures, Keshif Ventures, Crescent Ridge Partners, Spero Ventures, Launch Factory are confirmed to be in attendance.

While most Business of San Diego subscribers won’t be able to attend in-person, we’re going to publish a post and podcast episode from the event. So it should a nice treat for all newsletter subscribers.
