In August, a group of 150 NuFund angel investors gathered in Encinitas to celebrate the summer and one of the best exits in the organization’s 25-year history.

In August, a group of NuFund angel investors gathered in celebration of a massive biotech startup exit.

The company, called DTx Pharma, is a NuFund portfolio company that was sold to Novartis for nearly $1 billion.

The deal will be one of NuFund’s most profitable to date, thanks largely to $2.5 million in angel investment checks written in 2018 and 2019.

The billion-dollar exit came a little over twelve months after NuFund rebranded its name from Tech Coast Angels - San Diego, to better represent its national reach and “fund-first” model.
