VC Funding Report: San Diego Sees $1.3 Billion Invested in Q3 2024

San Diego saw an interesting quarter with roughly $1.3 billion invested in Q3 2024, with the majority of funding going into biotech and life science companies — with only a handful of software and two consumer deals amid VC slowdown.
There were a total of 33 deals made from the months July 1st to September 25th, which is ten deals less than in Q3 last year during that same period.
While the region saw fewer deals, it is among the highest amount of capital invested in the third quarter for San Diego, up from $1.1 billion in Q3 2023.
