Who writes the newsletter?

Fred Grier founded and runs Business of San Diego, the startups and venture capital media publication. 

Having written about San Diego for more than half a decade, Fred has established himself as a go-to voice for understanding what’s going on in San Diego.

He’s broken news on Qualcomm, Illumina, Dexcom, and many more top tech companies and venture capital firms. He has also interviewed unicorn startup founders, investors and top executives at companies including Linear, Vuori Clothing, Seismic, Trust and Will, among others.

He graduated from UC San Diego with a B.A. degree in psychology. He is earning a Master’s in Business and Real Estate at the University of San Diego.
